Hi!

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. There's bourbon, lipstick, & a lot of fun here. Enjoy!

So... you're out hanging with your peoples, having yourself a ball, and someone mad cute has been eying you all night. Not outright staring, but gently flirting... furtively glancing at you trying to gauge if it's cool to approach. You glance back at them like, "Oh, it's totally cool". They finally saunter on over in full Mack Mode and you're all "Ohhhh, they're ca-yoot!". Suddenly, the light hits them and you notice...

Their lips are mad crusty.

Womp. Womp. Womp. Woooooooooomp.

Your lips are hella important. You talk with them. You eat with them. You kiss with them. You mack with them. LL Cool J has built a large portion of his brand on them. Your lips are one of the first things others notice on your face. Treating them with the love & respect they so richly deserve is easier than you think. Here are three simple steps you can do right now to perfect your pout in five minutes.

  1. Buff 'Em: Your cupboard is full of the tools you need to take your lips from ashy to classy. Make a quick lip scrub using 1 tsp each of sugar, honey, & olive oil. After cleansing, gently scrub-a-dub-dub the mixture on your lips for about a minute. Both the honey & sugar are humectants to bring moisture to the skin. The olive oil is chocked full of Omega fatty acids and also makes the scrub malleable. The act of scrubbing increases blood flow to the lip area and can give a temporary bump to your plump. If you're really pressed for time, gently use your toothbrush to buff your lips after you've finished brushing your teeth. Don't go in too hard... you don't want to break the skin.
  2. Mask 'Em: If you've got some yogurt in the fridge, you've got yourself a lip mask. Take a bit of yogurt, break back out the honey, mix them together & apply to you lips. The lactic acid in the yogurt will further exfoliate while the honey hydrates. No yogurt? Oatmeal, honey, & a splash of water will do. Oatmeal is incredibly hydrating and is anti-inflammatory. Mix it into a paste and apply. Rinse off after 3 minutes.
  3. Slather 'Em: It's very important to protect your newly freshened pout so be sure to apply an inordinate amount of your favorite lip balm. Your lips will be soft and new skin will be revealed... you want to preserve that softness for as long as possible.

Matte lipsticks, hot coffee, cold weather... all these factors can wreak havoc on our lips. Our mouths work really hard for us (some a little harder than others 😏). They deserve some serious TLC on a regular basis. You never know... an investment of five extra minutes can mean the difference between "Hey, Boo" and "Ew, Boo."

I want you and that pretty pucker of yours to be great. 😉
